I found out the problem, I was standing there at 96% of the carving , it had just finished the picture and the next pass was when it was suppose to go down to start the 1/8" feather at the bottom of the pattern coming up and that is when it happened. Do any of the litho carvers use a feather around the pattern.
My next one will be without a feather.

Could it be the Floor Feather? If it is, you may just have to turn it off.

The Floor Feather floors the feather down to the depth of the pattern.

Good info, I am going to go check the project. Is the floor feather done at the time of the litho creation or at the time of the creation of the mpc?

Make sure the Floor Feather check box is unchecked.

Have you tried cleaning the bit with some high powered solvent?
I have cleaned the bits and I don't feel any stickiness or see any white on the bits. As far as chips, it worked well for 2 carves and everytime after a carve I clean the machine. I don't have this problem using PVC or any other plastic for lithos. I don't use any feathering on lithos and have floor feather turned off. As soon as the carving starts it's choppy and then I get the error clean y rails, after I push enter it gives me the y axis error. Doesn't do this for any other plastics or wood.

I have carved some pretty tough stuff. Phenolic for example. In such cases, it is important to have a "tight" machine. If the y or z is sloppy at all, the bit can jump around taking bigger bites. From your description, this may be what is happening. Ok for wood and the easy stuff but a problem when the going gets tough.

Check all of the truck bearings and the motor pack bearings for any sloppiness.

I'll double check the bearings and see. Thanks for helping me out bergerud.

Just checked my last 6 lithos and the "floor feather" was on. I turned it off and could see a difference. I will turn it off on the next one and see what happens.
As for as the candlestone material, I have use it quite a bit and did some testing with the owner on the same litho, I used the 1/16" bit, he used a "v"bit, not sure of the degree, this gives him a very sharp picture. Check his web site, he was
    impresed with my litho.
