Default AUGUST 2016 Project of the Month - The Bath Time Wall Clock!

    Hello,

Introducing the Bath Time Wall Clock! Now you can keep track of time with this cute timepiece designed for display in the bathroom - an area usually devoid of a clock. The folksy, casual charm of this clock will make a nice addition to practically any bathroom decor!

The project uses just the 1/16" Carving Bit and the 1/8" Cutting Bit. No other bits are required.

    The overall finished dimensions of the clock are about: 9.375" W x 8" T x 1½" D

    Main items you will need:
    1) The Project Files (included):
    • Bath_Time_Clock.mpc

    2) Board with the following dimensiions: 0.75" x 11" x 28"
NOTE: Do not use boards that are smaller than specified above unless using an appropriate jig. Larger boards are fine.

    3) Two small screw eyes, picture hanger wire

    4) Wood glue, clamps, sandpaper, wood stain and/or paint and clear finish

    5) A 3.1875" to 3.25" O.D. clock insert (3" mounting dia.) example: clock models #15706 or #15708 from www.klockit.com

    6) A Dremel-type rotary tool with assorted sanding wheels and bits to sand small details and speed up preparation for finishing.

Apply the finish of your choice. Here’s what I used on the sample Bath Time Clock made from Select Pine:

    • Two coats of thinned Bulls Eye Sealcoat (50/50 sealer and denatured alcohol) then sand when dry

    • Two coats Bulls Eye Sealcoat full-strength

    • Applied craft paint to tub (white), letters (yellow paint pen) and frame (light brown)

    • 2 coats of Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic spray to seal paint

    • Rust-Oleum Ultimate Stain -Golden Mahogany (as a glaze - brush on, then wipe off)

    • 3 coats of Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic spray

    Hi Mike,

I am pretty sure it was sent out this week. Unfortunately, I can't confirm that until Monday during CarveWright's regular business hours. I'm very sorry!

Evidently, it has not been sent out yet. Chris Davis is on vacation, today. I will go in and see if I can send it out.
