    Default Engraving a premade paddle

I make paddles as military gifts often with multiple species of wood. What would be the best way to engrave these like the attached image

    Welcome to the forum!

My suggestion would be to have the CW carve out the paddle shape and include the engraving design into the carve. Trying to carve something on an already shaped piece is kind of hit and miss.

If the paddles are for the most part flat already then you could make a jig to hold the paddle in place to carve into..

Hmmmm ... I would just use the CW for the hole project... Put rectangular piece of wood in, push a couple of buttons and walk away for a while ... Come back and find an engraved paddle or 2 ...
