Thread: Crank Issues - replacement?

  1. Default Crank Issues - replacement?

    Golden Greetings
My CW B has always been stiff(10 years) on cranking up and down especially at full height. Took apart crank because of slippage, plus access to top and bottom to adjust, and it looks like internal handle crankpiece has wear on square collar and internal washer. Will call for replacement parts? Has anyone have advice or experience with getting crank reinstalled and adjusted properly?
    Stuck in Canada.
    Cheers

Every one has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.

    Hi Henry
Only 2000 miles plus away in Golden BC.
Looks like my 2.87 inch top gear on crank has minor tears on it. The matching gear that meshes with it is OK. So after 35 minutes waiting on calling CW waiting on tech support had to give up. It would help if I had a parts listing and diagram showing them for the crank connection parts.
I will try the email route.

Thanks so much FWHarris, Part Number 146 on diagram ASM9 is the gear replacement I will need(plus more assembly parts as needed). Sent in CW contactus form in meantime.

I have not used CW much lately, but 5 CW trail signs I made, have been stolen and need to replaced.
    Cheers

If you disassemble the clutch mechanism, run a post bolt in from the inside where the crank shaft screws in. make it about 1/16" proud of the surface. That will hold the spacer washer in place while you slide the gear in place.
