Default Cut path test off the board

I always assume that cut path had to be completely on the board, well I was WRONG !
I did a test using a cut path loop with part of it off the board, see attached and it worked
perfect. the attached could be a top half or left half of a large sign. It started the 3 pass routine
at the bottom right corner, off the board, with 5 tabs/ft as to be sure I would have enough tabs to hold the
cutout piece even with cut path was off the board.
The second test was to make the bottom or right side of the sign. It started at the top left hand corner and made
a 3 pass routine, but on the 3rd. cut path routine, it did not cut thru the board because it was near the brass roller area. see attached, you are looking at the back side showing the tabs.Click image for larger version.

This may be common knowledge , but for me it will make is easier for me. without having to draw each half completely on each board
and the fit in the middle should be easy.

You can do it off the right or left ends but not off the top or bottom, at least with raster carves. A multi-panel sign edge gluing is stronger and less visible than end gluing.

My large sign I posted early is tops and bottoms with spline joint btwn them and the 2 sides are glued together .
I may have one with many curves on the top and bottom and I was concerned with having to cut them out
by hand or table saw, scroll saw and being that big it would be very awkward . Since it is all vectored and 60 deg. Text
the spline btwn the tops and bottoms does not come into play.
