    You are welcome.

Bought some Japanese rice "little water" I am going to try later today.

Super happy with the design. Carved better than I hoped. The lumber is beech and it did good. The step up is 56 inches long and 6.75 inches tall. I'll fit it tomorrow.

Very nice Oscar! I've never used beech but obviously it carves quite well.

Never used beech either but as above, really like it. Great carving.

Gents, thank you. I am pretty pleased with it. The beech, at least this board, carved beautifully. Not as good as cherry but close.

Beech depending on where in the country is fairly inexpensive. Unfortunately not so cheap in East Texas.

A friend asked me to do a test carve on one of his cutting boards. So did a quick custom pattern and carved it out this weekend. Needs to be a bit deeper but overall I think he will be pleased with the design.

    Species is hickory.

A nice looking cutting board. Curious as to whether the design was done to add a functional use to the board or just for visual?

Rick, its meant to do both. My friend primarily uses the boards for meat so thought the diamond pattern would hold the meat better. I also liked the look of the design.

Since I have never cut on a cutting board like this it may be a total disaster. My friend is supposed to let me know how it works and looks when finished.

I've been meaning to make a simple watch holder. Here is the design I have so far. I am going western theme.
