Default Half Blind Dovetail Router Jig...

In the process of building a pair of kneehole desks. Practice calls for dovetailing the carcass bottom to the sides, in order to ensure consistent wood movement. Worked up the math to cut a half blind dovetail router guide plate out of lexan, to accommodate the depth of the desk (17"). Took a half dozen tries to get it right. Put the guide on a make shift dovetail jig, and it took another half dozen attempts at getting the setup correct. Finally able to dovetail both sides of the desk. Joint is nice and tight...

Wish I had thought of that, being lazy and lacking imagination I bought one. Just shows what the carver can do to 'help' out around the shop in addition to
    all the 'craft' projects.

Very nice, I bought the dovetail templates from Woodline a few years ago and did this for a Christmas gift. I have always thought that one could use the carvewright to make more template styles.

    dltccf,

Nice touch on the Christmas gift! Never seen a dovetail like that! Must have been done with a straight bit, two separate templates?!
