Default Fly Boxes as a Business....

Today I decided to add another spin off to the business... PoconoDigitalFlyBoxes.com..... A new post on the Sawmill Creek Engraving forum had my interest with a guy offering a PDF Book on making Flyboxes... I bought one but have not looked at it yet... So while sitting by the Creek this morning with my faithful dog Sambone I developed the idea....

I already have some patterns from our FAMOUS CW artist for starters and will tune up the Laser Engraver soon to assist.... This week I got a new $6.5K Tag order from my Oil Refinery Buddy to go along with his $4K order I am wrapping up... A new LOCK OUT TAG OUT system.... Something NEW for me.... I have already started cutting the tags on the CW...

    Back to work....

My brother in law just got one of the laser engravers. That's a machine that can be a lot of fun. I think I'll have to put one on my wish list.

This is one of FW's GREAT Patterns that I have. I even put HIS Picture on my FB Page showing what the plan is... https://www.facebook.com/PoconoDigitalFlyBoxes/

THANKS FW !!!! I look forward to working with the pattern and developing a product line.... MY customer base includes a Country Club that has 2 Trout Streams, 5 Lakes, and a Trout Hatchery... I have a "IN" as my Step Father worked at the place for 41 years... They would be inclined to display the Fly Box on the Boardroom and Office desk as a conversation piece... Hence... A ZIPPO Lighter size box is in the planning with the words... "Tim Smith's TOP SECRET TROUT FLY" and only have room for 1 fly.... And a Large version to hold many fly's...

So I got the delivery of the Plastic for that big order of Lock Out tags and yesterday I tuned up my CW Artwork... I wanted to get the MOST out of each sheet... I needed to FLIP the Cow Tag and a simple way was to make the board THIN then do a Vector Cut through. Then on the BACK of the board place 2 Arc's and 2 Lines in the Cut Outline then copy and paste it on the FRONT. That let me get an exact size quickly with 1.187. Got 30 tags out of the final product that is cutting now.
    A Before picture too...

    Back to WORK...

    Al,

Sure wish I could take credit for the fly box plans but those are actually John Paluck's creation. I know he will be very pleased to see you carving these up. I think he has done a couple of them and as for me none as of yet.

That does sound like a great outlet for getting them on the market as we know them fly fisher guys and gals get all excited with something like this, especially if it is personalized for them.

I think this is a great idea. I have sold 6 or 8 this year and really don't advertise them. I bought John's project when it first came out and really like it. I hope you do well with them, AL.... They are fun projects.
