If all the new bits are going to Sears, where are they going? I checked on the web and at my local (large) Sears and both systems said there were no bits or accessories available at this time!! I have been waiting on an order of over $200 worth of bits and adapters for a month now.
Somebody doesn't have a clue what's going on in this supply chain SANFU, and I'm beginning to think it's everyone on this side of the Pacific!

Tempus Loquendi,
Tempus Tacendi.
I ordered a complete set of bits back in the begining of Feb. I have read of other people who ordered theirs and recieved in less than 2 weeks.
I did figure out the sure fire way to get them though.....
I took the machine back to Sears this morning.
Why don't they ever clear a neighborhood to plant a forest instead of the other way around.
found this site that has a pretty good looking 1/8 to 1/4 in collet
I havent ordered one I havent found a 1/8 in bit I like

Two Heads Are Better than One
My complete set plus some extras are still waiting to be sent from my Feb order. I did request a partial shippment and got two 1/8 cutters with holder and a few bits without the holders. I needed the V90 and V60, to start making signs and got one of each of them and transfered the holder to them. I was very grateful they sent them. Might be worth a try. I hope they remember to send the extra holders for the bits that were sent without when they come in.

I would advise NOT to use that adapter as what holds the bits in the 1/4" adapters is the two set screws. Now if that was an adapter for the 1/2" collet YES as that adapter is designed to be tightened down with the nut sqeezing it together as the 1/2" adapter works.
mlcswoodworking.com has adapters from 1/2" to 1/8".

As Dan-Woodman just said,
I would advise NOT to use that adapter.
For a few reasons, fisrt it's Mfged for twist compression locking.
Second it appears in photo to be a non-pass through design made of brass ie. problems with dissimilar metal and hardness.
Third I feel a length of 13/16" is not long enough to lock it safety and securely in the 1/4" adapter.

It Never Fails * Till * You Say It Never Fails
In doing some searching, I stumbled across these guys: Beckwith Decor. They may not be the cheapest, but at least they are long enough and in stock. My contact said he would discuss price for quantity orders. I have not tried these. The first to do so, please report back.
Beckwith Decor Products is the sole distributor for our own set of custom 3d cutters, which are designed for high speed cnc 3d profiling.
The set BDP-3d consists of 3 cutters all with a 1/4" shank, 3" OAL & ball end.
$40.50 BDP001 is a 1/16" diameter with a 3/4" LOC
$54.00 BDP002 is a 1/8" diameter with a 1-1/2" LOC
$40.50 BDP003 is a 1/4" diameter with a 1-1/2" LOC
I received an email explaining that BDP002 is tapered along the entire 1-1/2" LOC, so at 1" depth, the diameter is approx: 0.17" (you can do the fractional conversion)
