Thread: Family Recipe Boxes

    Default Family Recipe Boxes

I've always wanted to gather up some of the favorite recipes from current family members and especially those that have passed. So I designed this 6"x8"x6" box for my CW and made six of them for Christmas. All the material is 1/2". The end pieces are walnut and have pictures of apples on one end and pies, etc on the other( Both from the Pattern depot). The front, back and top were made from various woods such as maple, ambrosia maple or African mahogany. I incorporated the weave pattern in my design for the other components, with a two tone top. It was fun to design! I'm typing up the recipes on 4x6 laser postcards, with a picture of the person most noted for the recipe placed on the top right corner of each card. I enjoy making these personal gifts! Hope they're a hit!

Those are treasures for sure. Adding the recipes make them a heirloom.
