I have a dumb question. Why do these types of signs always say "Est"? Sounds like a business or company was started. There must be a more "romantic" thing to say. Married, joined, or something.

Just a fad thing, some people want it others agree with you and would rather leave it out

With the forced perspective that photo makes the plaque look HUGE! It could be a billboard but logic dictates it has to fit into the machine.

BTW, very nice painting. I wish I was that good.

I believe you said the First names were edwardian script.
But the "&" sign is different than the edwardian font I have.
