Really putting the pressure on (but only if I let them see your gifts)
Looks like a nice addition to the Xmas collection, had gotten comments that I didn't seem to do as much for it as some of the other holidays.
As always, thank you for sharing the fruits of your labor.

    Default Steam locomotive suggestion

I have been sucked into 3d printing for the last few months and really haven't been doing a whole lot of cnc patterns. Now that I have a pretty good handle on how to make 3d print models its time to go back to cnc and forget everything I just learned. I think that is how hobby skills are supposed to work.

I thought a cool steam engine would make a good cnc pattern.

What are your favorite steam engines?

The Jupiter is a sharp looking steam locomotive engine. Thinking it must be one of the older models, as it uses a wood build cab.

Think I could enjoy 'playing' with a 3d printer, have looked at them but can't justify adding one into our budget. Being able to create your projects from scratch to finish certainly must make it a lot of fun.
Never really thought about steam that much, still have the set of O gauge my dad gave me. He made most of the cars, tanker, box, flat bed. Guess the engine that most impresses me is the giant early tractors. Local museum has one that has steel back wheels about 8 feet tall. and has a metal roof over the drivers area. Tried to imagine what it would be like sitting on it for hours, didn't seem as much fun as I had first thought. Maryland has multiple steam events each year, here's a link.

    Gents,

Thanks for the inputs. Really like both (Steam tractor and Jupiter) so will throw into the do list.

For me, the 3d printer is just a fun toy and it is a blast making little trinkets for the heck of it. Just finished a werewolf warrior figurine. But it is another rabbit hole that you can get sucked into. The plastic string or polymer is an ongoing cost that quickly adds up. Just like lumber in a cnc.

    Thanks for the comments.

Here is the Jupiter locomotive. Another artistic rendering because nothing again matches to a real one.

Very nice, easy to tell the make by the big bell shaped stack and the wooden cab. I like.
