Thanks for the encouragement. Might look around for a 3d class, think there are Cad ones within driving distance but can't remember anything on 3d.
Keep creating, good for the gray cells.

ps: Did a google and nearest CAD class is 60 miles away. No 3d animation so would be stuck with online. Rural life has its price. We'll see.

    Rick,

I know not optimal but I have learned a lot from really smart folks on Youtube. An option.

    Everyone,

Made a short animation for my wife's Twitch account and tried to make a pattern from the model. It came out kind of mediocre but may be of use for someones young one.

I had to use the height map method because the texture is faked through a material application.

    Regards,
    O

Carved the twisted leather pattern. It will be a panted piece so used an old straight 2x4 I had laying about for the blank. It came out around 12x11x1.25 carved at .7 and with a 3 hour carve on normal. I'll post pictures when the paint dries.

In the meantime, practicing my boolean operations so made a racing tire.

    Happy pre-Valentines day.

Twisted wrought iron heart with some welds. Nothings says love like a chunk of wrought iron.

As always, really nice design. Like the simplicity and can already see a future valentines gift using it.
    Thx, Rick H
