    Default Latest Litho

One of my good customer's daughters is getting married later this month and she wanted to give her daughter something special at her wedding shower last week. Her daughter and fiancé are big Detroit Lions fans and had a picture taken for their wedding invitations in their favorite jerseys. I suggested a lithophane of the picture. It was a huge hit!! The entire shower party couldn't say enough about how much they liked it. I put a post about it on my Facebook page after the shower and it received over 700 views. I used the 1/32" carving bit and 1/4" thick corian. I am not sure the picture does it justice as the detail really was amazing with the 1/32" bit. Set the depth to .18 and the height to 400 and carved it on the optimal setting. I really enjoy carving lithos and hope this will spur some additional interest. Now my customer wants something even more special for a wedding present, so I just finished carving one of Steve Nelson's pierced hearts with their names on it. Can't wait until my customer sees it finished ...

Thank you dbemus... I believe you would enjoy carving one. There is a lot of great info on the forum on how to light a litho and what to put it in.... Lots of options..

John, your lithophane really came out nice. And I know your pierced hearts will be a winner too.

Thanks, Sharon. My bride is completing the finish on the heart project today. I am lucky to have her doing my finishing. It sure makes the projects work....
