    Default Making a small stencil

I am wanting to make a small stencil with my name, phone and email using 1/4" wood so I can either spray or use acrylic pens to put my info on the back of my carvings. I was trying to make it such that the 1/8" cutting bit would just make block type letters doing a pierced or cutout but for the life of me, I cannot make it work. I want to make it using small letters that will fit in a 6" x 3" space (I know I'll have to use a sled and a bigger work piece. I'll cut it down after the carve).

    Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to try thinner material as I think it might be easier to paint the lettering. Or you might consider a stamp.

Have you tried typing raster text, outlining it and then either selecting a bit or cutout? The 1/16" cutting bit might be better.

Edit: I like the stamp idea. I bet it gives a cleaner result.

I just use centerline to carve it on the back. No paint, no mess. I have even used Corel Draw to convert my signature to vectors and imported it into the designer but that may be a little overkill.
