This is a project I'm going to donate to my Pleiku Group; we'll see in three weeks at our Lexington reunion if they like it. Wife is going to help make a 'storage/carry bag' for it as it's quite heavy and will be transported to our annual reunions all around the country. It's 13"x20"x1.5" bamboo - which is a very good fit with the Vietnam theme. Base is of Brazilian cherry. On the advise of my 'graphic artist' daughter I didn't paint the bamboo, Huey or the M16.
The Vietnam Service Medal ribbon I hand painted (first time I've done that), the large inlay is a 7" photo of our group logo and the one below is a photo of the bronze plaque we have at the National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton, OH. The POW/MIA inlay is the reverse side of one of our challenge coins.
