    Default file converson

    Hi everyone,

Is it possible to convert my projects (.MPC) back to .DXF format? I think I have searched everywhere on forum and couldn't find an answer.

    Thanks

Not that I am aware of. Was the design originally a dxf?

No. You cannot export as a dxf. Only as an stl, if you have both stl importer and pattern editor.

No, was not originally a DXF, most made on either carvewright software or Paint. I now have coral draw and wanted to clean up some of my art work and patterens and didn't want to start from scratch. I had hoped that I could buy the DXF importer software and use it in reverse by taking my carvewright patterns, make them DXF, clean them in coral draw and then put them back to MPC.

Do you know if coral draw opens a STL file?

    Thanks

Can CorelDraw open an STL file? Absolutely not. An STL file is a 3D model...not a vector file!

CorelCAD supports STL for file export only. You can save your 3D solids to STL for 3D printing. For STL file import and reuse of the imported 3D in CorelDRAW you should have a look at CorelDRAW Technical Suite X6. The integrated XVL Studio 3D Corel Edition imports STL files and provides tools for creating specific 3D views. You can send a 3D view as vector illustration to Corel DESIGNER which is the technical illustration application in the CorelDRAW product family.
The free trial version of CorelDRAW Technical Suite X6 will provide you with all the tools for evaluating this.

Check details on this page. http://www.coreldraw.com/us/pages/3d-printing/

    Solution: CorelDRAW® Technical Suite

Open your 3D .STL file in XVL Studio 3D in CorelDRAW Technical Suite to achieve the desired views, such as the front, sides, top or bottom. Send your project to Corel DESIGNER as a vector drawing to receive editable vector shapes, including contours for the vinyl cutting.

    • Open 3D files, such as .STL or .DWG, in XVL Studio 3D visualization application
    • Send 3D views to Corel DESIGNER® for graphics editing
    • Design colored surfaces with illustration and layout tools
    • Edit and retouch images with Corel PHOTO-PAINT®
    • Enhance your project with digital painting

I have often wished we could export vectors from Designer (as EPS or DXF), but that is not possible.

CorelCAD is a nice program but isn't really going to do much (nothing) to help resolve the OP's original request.
