My wife has been trying so hard to add patina to some of my carvings. The television shows always distress there projects. My dad just whip his projects with a chain. I will have to purchase the materials and blow her mind.

The trick with aging with paint is to try to deconstruct the layers you see in a actual antique object, think of what may have caused the aging on top of the original finish and recreate it. Break down the color layers, etc.... That is how I look at things when I try to recreate aging. If you can train yourself to think like that the process becomes fairly easy.

Thank you for sharing your tricks. Does the activator come with the paint or is it something else?

You have to purchase the activator separately Mike.
