Nice one too Geo!
Very nice. great texture.
Thanks, Zan and Oscar. Just trying to get in a little practice.

To all thank you for sharing . Very nice work.
Suzanne, Geo,
Thanks for the inspiration. Took a little playing around but I finally figured out how to do weathered wood texture consistently and it will be the centerpiece of a new pattern.

Oscar
Looking good Oscar. Did you do it in Designer or a 3rd party program? Either way, how did you go about it?
George
George,
3rd party program. I use blender 3d to create a 3d model first and then port into designer as an stl. I had to learn how to create 3d aged wood texture.
I am amazed at what the program (blender) can do for being completely free. It has some serious user interface issues and the learning curve is pretty much a cliff but once you have a few basics down it is super cool to use. When combined with designer basic picture import functions you have some serious tools are your disposal. There are several superior 3d modeling programs in terms of use and rendering speeds but they are all relatively expensive for what for me is a hobby. In the end, blender 3d can do just about the same thing just with a little bit more effort and longer render times.

Blender...ugh...I done fell off the cliff...
