    Default Laser engraving.

Does anyone here do laser engraving on metal? I am making a custom knife to donate for the annual Veterans reunion this year. They auction it off and the proceeds support the reunion among other worthy causes. I am also having a custom sheath made, donated by a friend. I would like to have some text engraved on the blade. If someone here has the equipment to do this, and would be willing to donate your service, I would pay for the shipping both ways. Knife will be done next week, have to have everything done and back to me by July 17th.

I am unable to do it as my power is only 20 watts and you need 35 and up.... That is with a CO2 Laser using a product called Cermark that is a powder ceramic in a Alcohol carrier. It is brushed or sprayed on very thin and the laser melts the powder and fuses it to the metal. With a YAG or Fiber Laser, you can mark direct to the metal but they are twice the price of a CO2.

    Good Luck finding someone.
