Default Accessories fo a 9mm carbine

I was asked to make a grip and a butt plate for a 9mm Masterpiece Arms "mini" carbine. I developed it in pine and did the final in alder with cherry stain. I have a lip around the edged of the butt plate so it fits snugly over the metal. On the grip, I have stand-off buttons so only the 8 buttons are in contact with the metal. I sent pictures to Masterpiece Arms to see if they are interested.

Nice work. Tel us a little about how you accomplished the grip.

Nice! Try it in laminated dye woods. Appeals to that younger generation for those types of guns.

How did I do the grip? Well it so happens I am working on a cake/cupcake tree for my daughter and for the store. I came up with an amazingly simple way to make wooden tubes. I used that technique which will be revealed when I submit the project. You can download the instructions on a try basis and see. Additionally I drew an end view in designer - the barrel cover is a square overlaying a circle - to get exact dimensions. This had to be as precise as metal machining. Designing and test carves in pine took time, but now I can crank them out if needed. Assembly is a little tricky also - made up of 3 pieces.

Clint, truly amazing. Love the subject matter.

I was unfamiliar with Masterpiece arms so went to their website. I looked at their MPA30DMG model and thought how cool is that but I think I'll stick to traditional designs for now.

    Good luck with them.
