Default Conforming on a hidden object

I found this "log" siding at Home Depot (might have been Lowes..it starts to blur). If I create a region in Designer to match the siding dimension, do some conforming for text then hide the region, will the text still conform to the hidden shape when I carve it? if not, is there a way to do this without air carving the log profile?

If you hide it, it is not there when the carving is done and conforming vectors follows the shape of the carving that was done. Since the carving was not done. You can create a mask (carved out area of zero depth) to cover all but the area you want to carve.
