    Default 1/8" Lithophanes

Does anyone make lithos from 1/8" material? It seems 1/4" and 1/2" is the norm. Here is one I made with 1/8" ivory cast acrylic. It seems to look just fine in natural light. A little more precision with carving depth is required but I see no need for a light box.

Good to know! I have done them on pvc and turned out ok. I found a source for 4' x 4' x 1/8" for $40 just haven't been able to make the trek to get it.
It seemed to me that 1/8 should be the norm since .10 is the max carve depth per pass recommended for acrylic.
    is that with 1/32 bit?

Well done litho, Dan. I haven't ever used 1/8" material, but will keep an eye out for it to give it a try. Very nice detail in your carve....

I agree with Robert. The 1/32" is the only way to go....
