A friend of mine wants a plaque made for his best friend. She wants an angel on it and I found what I want but don't know how to make it useable. I just want it to be a "line drawing". Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks, Chris

With Designer 3, (or 2) one can use vector groups to cut a line drawing of closed curves with a V bit.

Just for my info, how did you use the "V" bit to create the different depth, so they appear on the mpc.
I don't see where you assign a bit.

P.S. I did a test on our problem "board too thick" on a 3/4" board , no sled, and it worked ok. Still not understanding why this happens
    sometimes and sometimes not. ?????

Right click on the vector group in the carving list and click on make vector group and you will see.

P.S. I have asked Metallus to explain what condition invokes the too thick message. I am hoping he will get back to me.

You are the man, I have been trying to think of something to use "make vector group" on and this explains it greatly.
Hope to see you at the conference. in June.

One can also make a vector group creation into a pattern.

I do that in a raster or a Vector carving. For a raster I make a pattern and a vector I make the image into a font. You need to load the font file on your computer.

Making the image into a font is very cool! How do you do that?

Unable to open bergerud's mpc cause I need designer 3.

I was able to import the image as a dxf then assigned the 90V-groove bit.
