Are there any problems with doing that?

Rubber or sandpaper, it does not matter.

Been using the original UCB for a while and now that I have a second machine I find myself in need of an additional one, I have been skimming through the posts on this topic and need a summary of what advantages/benefits between the original and the protected one with additional holes. I see there are no stop blocks so was wondering how to make sure you get in the right place to so a two sided carve and if the additional holes are only for clamping if needed.

    Thanks

I put a 1/4" bolt in a top hole to act as a stop. I would post a picture but it is in the machine carving right now!

Look closely at the picture in http://forum.carvewright.com/showthr...420#post249420

and see the bolt on the far side to the right. (The board now slides in and out the front.)
