Default What I've been up to lately

Few new projects. Trying to hit on that perfect project that everyone will want. The key tags I have been carving using some 1/4" figured maple panels I got from a guitar supplier. Works great if I can get them flat. Bench is my first rustic style cedar bench. Has one of my original sayings carved into the back. Tricky part, besides setting it up on a carrier board, was putting the text in the right place to avoid knots and voids. Almost got it perfect. The folded flag plaque is something I hope people would like to honor veterans they know.

Very nice work! The cedar bench is very attractive with the coloration on the back and the nicely curved arms. Plaque is a great idea and should be a very popular item.

Thanks guys. Already have people asking for pricing on the bench. Working with cedar is tricky as some of you know... so fragile... but it does make the shop smell good! With the exception of the seat slats I used some 5/4 material I had custom sawn years ago to use for cedar chests. I always tend to over-build stuff, especially furniture. I learned some lessons on this one... back is too short and it should have been about a foot wider but it looks cool and my better half loves it so...

Great job on all three projects. I especially like the "In recognition" flag. Thanks for sharing.

All three are very nice projects. Like the others...the cedar bench stands out because we don't see something like that very often.
