Thread: Cut motor brushes

    Default Cut motor brushes

I had 15 minutes into a carve and the spindle quit spinning. I searched on here for all the troubleshooting posts and went through the motions and narrowed it down to a broken brush (bottom one). Replaced them (thanks RogerB for the brushes) and it is running very good. My question is, should I be concerned that something else caused the brush to break or is it just from wear and tear? 161 hours on cut motor. Side note, it really is amazing the amount of information and knowledge that is here, thank you.

I would not worry about this set breaking. There could be an issue with the brush it self. I would write it off as a bad brush and leave it at that, unless it happens again.
