Default Partial cut out text help, medal hanger

I have a request to make something like in the picture and I'm trying to figure out how to do it on the CW if possible. Is there a way to do this other than drawing the entire thing by hand a piece at a time? I have also posted my start on it. Help is appreciated.

Make all of the letter outlines and the banner carve regions. Select them all (except things like the center of the A), and outline patterns. It is a start. (Newer versions of Designer have text along a path but you have done that already.)

The lower left corner of your banner is not closed, as well as the center of the a. I would use the line segment tool to recreate the center of the A, but the banner corner just needs to be closed.

Well here is what I came up with. Good thing they told me of the text change before I really started. Ended up drawing it piece by piece by hand. Outlined the letters and assigned a 60 V bit, they cut the outline. Probably do in 5/8" thick Poplar with some shaker pegs to hang the medals on.

I don't have the advanced designer software but the "Carve Region" and "Outline" are your friend....

In the past I had done some letters in a line, didn't have follow a path... Then overlayed some shallow carve regions over the bottom areas making shapes needed. Then select all the layers and outline everything. Go back and delete the outline's you don't need and close the paths or nodes to make cut path's that you need.

    Just an idea...

You should probably or could delete the text after outlining, so they aren't carved. Will also save time and give you the same look as in the photo...just a cut out.
