    Default carving a line

this feels like an extreme newbie question because it seems like it should be simple, but im trying to make a little sign and want to have it inside a square line carved around the outside. cutting a sqaure is easy, shouldn't just carving it be as well? been searching forum for an answer, no luck, internet too slow for videos on carvewright tutorials

Draw the line you want just like you would if you were going to make it a cut path. Then right click on the line and choose select bit and select the bit you wish to use. Then choose height and depth. I think this is what you are talking about. let me know if I am wrong.
