It will help us to give you better advice if you can first describe what you want to carve, and then give us measurements of the boards you want to carve on and then align (perhaps for glue up). How large will your total finished carving be when finished? There are a variety of great articles (and videos) on subjects like this on the Carvewright.com home site, and Tips and Tricks.
