These are really great. are you carving them on the cw on a flat panel then glue up? Can you show us pictures of the carving on a flat surface?
Thanks.
Really cool! Can I ask how you carve those?
Very nice, The question I have is do you carve theses flat then cut the board into mitered pieces and then reassemble? If so do you use band saw? seems like table saw or miter saw would remove too much wood. What about finish interior and exterior? Do tell more.
Those are mitered pieces if I'm not mistaking..........what a great idea. I'll have to make myself a few for the Holidays! Thanks for sharing.......
First I thickness plane them to my desired thickness, then I square cut them on a band saw, made a sled that will hold 3 of the cut pieces and vector carve them flat . I sand the 22.5 deg. after the carve, no loss because of kerf of the blade.
What an innovative idea.
What do you use to seal them for liquids?
I use Titebond III glue and I finish them with water base polyurethane. Canemaker I am going to be out of my shop for a few days but when I get back I will post pictures of the sled I designed to hold the 3 panels I carve on.
