    Default Void filler What to use?

    Has anyone used anything to fill voids in wood, like knots or cracks That would still be carve able and give smooth surface ?

    I have mixed sanding dust and glue works good. Have also used plugs from the same wood. match your grain.

    Epoxy works well. You can also add tint to color the epoxy.

    I agree with RogerB for cracks. Sanding dust mixed with a good wood glue sure does the trick. It even finished nicely. Loose or missing knots are another story, though. A thick CNA glue can do the trick with loose knots, but missing knots really have to be drilled out and plugged....
