Thread: Using a sign pattern

    Default Using a sign pattern

So I have downloaded a sign pattern and am trying to add a few other patterns within the recessed carve area of the sign. I seem be having trouble understanding how to set the depth for patterns I am dropping into the recess that comes as is when downloaded.

I only have the basic Designer3 so was thinking I might need an additional add-in to get the results I am looking for. I am thinking there is a function, similar to the conforming vectors for text that adjusts the depth according to the recessed region.

Not sure if I asked the question very well, thanks for your help.

You adjust the thickness of patterns yourself. (You don't need any extra software for this basic task.) Typically, a good starting thickness is to make the pattern thickness the same as (or less than) the depth of your Carve Region.

See page 2,3 and 4 of the following Tips & Tricks. Perhaps that may help.

I might add that if the carve region or background is not a flat surface you may need to apply a merge.
