    Default Uneven cutting

I have a B model machine. Bottom surfaces have always cut with lines left in the bottom of any recessed flat surface. I always thought this was normal and did a lot of sanding. A friend just purchased a new machine and he does not get any of these striations. Do I have a part that needs replacing or is this an adjustment?

Y bearings? How many hours since you changed those out? If at all?

First thing I would do is a 3 inch carve region with no ptn. Just want to split the artwork/ptn/carve region to mechanical of the machine...

So I am expecting it is mechanical...

Since it looks like a Z Problem with a shall we say a "floating Z" where the Z has the ability to float between 2 mechanical points... I would first replace the Z Belt.

But it could be the Y roller rail bearings letting the head tilt when changing direction. Picture it in your mind where you are painting and at the end of the stroke you let the brush lag in the direction you just changed from.... if that makes sense.. So can the Y ROCK like you were trying to twist it clockwise or counterwise holding the Z Truck... Loose Y roller rail bearing, the clamp on the rail adjustment.

    Just my 2 cents..

Check that your Y and Z trucks don't wobble at all. You have a B; does it have a QC or CT. Could be run-out, but looks more like a truck is not tight on the rollers.

Are you using a sled? The same sled? Check to see if warped.

Did you do the mechanical check yet? Just a simple carve region with no artwork.\

Did you see the post in this thread with the Z Catching and by rotating the Z Rails the catch was gone as was the lines in the bottom of a carve region....
