Welcome to the forum. There have been some paddles here on the forum. Do a search for paddle. See what comes up. (What Carvewright software do you have? Any add ons?)
Thank you bergerud I have Project Designer 2. What all do I need?
The Advanced 3D modeling suite add on would be good for designing a paddle. The first step is to draw the outline.
That is that I was trying to do, but I was never good in art back in school.
Here is one I made once. Never carved it, just made it.

Thank you I just made it a little shorter and made it 2 sided, but that is what I was looking for.
You will need some manual tabs. Also, it would be faster if you used a 3/16" carving bit instead of the 1/16" carving bit.
What are Manual Tabs
When you do a cut path, tabs are automatically placed along the cut (you cannot see them until you actually do the cut) so the piece does not fall out during the cutting. If you cut all the way through by assigning a bit to a path or by carving, there will be no tabs. You can make your own tabs by drawing line segments across the gap and using place tabs (carving menu - Place Tabs).
