Thread: Do I have to have the new 2.0 to place tabs on a pattern that will cut through?

  1. Default Do I have to have the new 2.0 to place tabs on a pattern that will cut through?

I make surfboard fins. I want to give a shot at Lexan or poly carbonate. I want to have the foiled shape of the fin on one side and my logo engraved on the other. Because it carves through, I'll need to place tabs to secure the carving. I'll order my text first, then carving. I have 1.185 version and I can't get the tabs to activite. I can get tabs to automatically place on simple cut outs, but I can't get tabs placed on carvings like this. Do I have to have 2.0 for this feature or simply a newer update? Thanks ahead of time!

The tabs should work in 1.185. (There was a problem if you grouped the tabs. I forget which version that was fixed.)

Do you see the tabs in Designer? (Upgrade to 1.187 so others can help.)

I could not find the manual tabs in the software manual. Maybe that is your problem.

Draw a line segment across the gap where you want a tab. With the line segment selected, go under the carving menu - place tabs.

    Will try that. Thanks.
