    Default Some projects of late.

The carving of Okinawa is done the same as my lakes with the frame. It was asked to be left natural. The University Seal, Rosette and Swags are cut from MDF (nasty stuff to work with had to clean machines and win filters on dust collectors several times) their finish was primed and will be painted gold by the contractor.

Very nice projects Richard and I agree with your comments on working with MDF, but at least it eliminates having to deal with splits along the grain. I find it sands beautifully if you seal the surface with shellac after carving. Again nice carvings.

Really nice work. It would be interesting to see a pic of the finnished University Seal in it's final resting place.
