I have a bother-in-law that wants to know if I could make a hookah, I had to look it up on the net I still don't know on how it works he owns one of those vapor less cigarettes shops in Ohio good thing I have two months to try to figure this out.... Thought the rotary jig would be the ticket for this project...

Like a bong like Bllhutchens said. Simple to make but not normally made of wood. Two tubes placed in a jar filled 3/4 with water, the intake tube has a pipe bowel that you place tobacco in, and the out take tube is above the water in the jar. When you inhale the air vents threw the water to remove some of the tar. You will here a bubbling sound as you draw air into your lungs and that's how you know it's working.

Those are for sale in "all" the Arab shops in Jerusalem...and most of those shops have a group of two or more people sharing one. I guess it's kind of a "demo"! I looked over the designs on many of them, as they can be very beautifully decorated. (none were wooden, as I recall)

Instead of water you can use wine or whiskey.
