Saw a post months ago about a font not working and it was something about it not being a True Font.... A search might give you the correct answer before Monday's start of Business at LHR.

However, just like the problem Al mentioned above, even the TTF version does not work!

This is a real bummer, I've updated from a version that added difficulty with bit-checks to one that will not work with my favorite TTF.

    See http://forum.carvewright.com/showthr...440#post219440

These are all the font style "code words" that are being stripped and interpreted as style settings:
UltraLight Thin ExtraLight Light Normal Medium DemiBold SemiBold Bold Black Regular
UltraCondensed ExtraCondensed Condensed SemiCondensed Unstretched SemiExpanded Expanded ExtraExpanded UltraExpanded

Any font whose family name (examples: helvetica, times new roman, bookman ...) which includes one of these keywords will not work properly. But, this makes all of the fonts that include an attribute in the name (such as medium, black, condensed...) work correctly.

Fonts have weird naming conventions, try reinstalling the font under a different name; "BlackChancery" => "BlkChancery" will get it working.

    Mark,

    Thanks for the reply.
Does this mean that the users need to make modifications?
Or, is LHR going to correct the problem?

That did not work for me. Apparently something else may be going on under the hood.

    The original name was: BLKCHCRY.TTF

I changed it to: BlkChancery.TTF and reinstalled the font under that name. Restarted Designer and no go - yields a sans serif font substitution.

I then changed it to: BlackChancery.TTF and reinstalled the font under that name. Restarted Designer and still no go - yields a sans serif font substitution.

BTW...in all the above names, the preview text window does display the Black Chancery font correctly...but when you go back to the layout board, you get the font substitution instead.

Did you reboot? Sometimes Windows doesn't recognize a newly installed font until after a restart.

Why would it work in 1.87 and not in 2.05
