    Default Recreate serving tray

Looking for some basic help beyond my means. I have an old oic of mine that has asked me to recreate a serving tray for him. The sides with the handles are kicking my tail. Trying to make this 10.5 in long. It gradually comes up with a hand hole cut out on each side. I would like to use the machine to do that. I just can't seem to draw it to suit myself. Any help is appreciated.

Forgot to add that I am trying to make the sides with the hand holes 10.5 in wide. I should be able to take care of everything else.

Maybe I'm not understanding do you want the hand holes at 10.5 and in the oval shape..... or to conform to the shape of the box ?

    dltccf,

I LOVE the text in the middle of the project. I really hope whoever sells those CDs with pirated patterns off this forum gets inundated with PO'd people.

Can you spin it 90 degrees? Just the Hand Hold part of it. I keep trying to and of course I am messing it up.

I think I understand but looking at the image it looks to be close to the base board I changed it some leaving some room for a base board if you don't like it don't use it...it won't hurt my feelings none I didn't have nothing to do anyway....

    UnitedCases,

I'll be watching your project with great interest. About 10 years ago I made a set of 35 oak trays as Christmas presents for the whole family, similar to what you are creating but well before I had the CW. I started out to just make 6 but like many projects it soon snowballed. I've often thought about making more using the precision of the CW to cut all the parts. The only missing feature would be the finger jointed corners.

To date not a single tray across the whole family has failed or even cracked. I made pattern holder fixtures to simplify the edge routing and hand holes on my router table and it certainly simplified cutting all those ends and for all intents and purposes made all the parts interchangeable.

Best of luck with the project for your for former OIC.
