Actually, you're correct in that they didn't line up just right. I fudged, tugged, cussed, sanded, cussed, fudged some more. I actually eye balled it to line up where I wanted it. I don't even have a jointer so I just sanded it (eye-balled) up even, roughed up the joining edges a little with a my dremmel and rough bit that I have so the tight bond II glue would take. I glued it up, I sanded and cussed a little more , sealed it, cussed again and applied some wood restorer on it all, let it dry and started painting. After the paint, I sprayed a clear coat and it worked. I'm SURE that there was a MUCH easier way to do this (lining it all up), but it worked out ok. All in all it worked out and besides since I speak 3 languages I had plenty of cuss words to brush up on and use. LOL
