Patterns exported from 2.004 are not compatible with 1.187. This is a bug which has been fixed for 2.005. Until then, export from 1.187.

Edit: although the above is true, it opened ok for me in 1.187.

    Floyd,

This the error message I get when I try to open it.
I am running 2.004 and I tried on my laptop, which has 1.87, and it wouldn't see the file.

    Ok, Here are 2 files...

The file with 187 is exported out of Ver 1.87
The file with 2004 is exported out of Ver 2.004

Never tried to share a pattern file before , always shared .mpc files....
I exported the above files by going to My Favorites , right clicking, then exporting.
    Is this the correct way....

Yes it is the correct way. The problem is a bug in 2.004. That is all. Patterns exported from favorites in 2.004 are not recognized by 1.187. Supposed to be fixed in 2.005.

    Gwiz,

Thanks, I don't know what you did but they all open for me now. Should make a beautiful carving in Black Walnut.
Thanks everyone for your help. Great forum.

Wait, What?! We were told that they were two totally different programs written with completely different code, that would never be compatible!!
