Default Need help with a pattern

    Hello all,

I am working on a sign for a friend who has one of the special edition Camaro's, the Hot Wheel Model. I wanted to make a sign that he could display when he has his hood open at cruise nights.

I am very new at this program and was wondering if anyone can assist me. I am using the spline tool to trace a drawing, and manipulating the carve region depths to get the desired effects. My question is how I can make the "O" so that the inner donut hole is lower than the O. I am going to have the same problem when trying to design the little "e" in Wheels.

Thanks for any advice. (did I say I have o Idea what I am doing?)

Try clip carving:exclusive on the O. It will then let the hole drop inside.

    Thanks, bergerund,

I applied the clip carving to the outer circle and then the inner circle dropped through at the lower depth. I wish there was a better way of understanding this. I kept on clicking on the inner circle and applied clip carving (since that was what I was having problems with) and was not getting any results. I keep going through the tips and tricks as well as the forum posts to get a better understanding.

Any pointers on good training resources?

Thanks again, Have a great remainder of the Weekend.

    Woody
