    Default muffler

Is it necessary to use the carver with the muffler, collector. Will it harm the machine if not used?

    Al,

No, but it'll blow sawdust out into that area.

I dont see it collecting too much dust but it is loader without it.

It won't be a heavy dust collector, Tim. Just remove the cloth filter and dump it into a waste barrel and you'll see what it does, though.

Bob I took a good luck at it last night as I had my cover off several times and it would seem to me we might be able to extend it somehow to collect more but it would have to be degigned by someone who has the means.

if you look on the inside on the very left just behind the cover there is a plastic piece that comes down that is what feeds the dust cover.
