Thread: arrow of light vector pattern

  1. #1

Default arrow of light vector pattern

    Hey all,

thought i would share a simple arrow of light vector pattern someone asked me to make a router template for them to router there own plaques.

They wanted to a 5/8" slot width to run there bushing and cove bit in, so i made a vector pattern overtop of there image and then double up the lines so when using a 1/2" straight bit the cut would be 5/8".

You could easily eliminate the doubled up lines and assign a different bit and depth to make the pattern work for other projects.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the mpc, thats a great idea.
I see that Eagle America is selling MDF patterns for bowls and candy dishes that would be real easy to do on the CW.
I look through catalogs and find a lot of things for sale that could be easily done on the CW. aint it fun?

Did you by chance create a vector pattern for the arrow, too?

Doug, are those pockets vectors or raster cuts?

Here is an arrow of light I had done some time ago. Both raster and vector lines.

Using Designer 1.187, STL importer, Center line, conforming vectors, scanning probe/PE, and the ROCK chuck.

I see how you did it Eddie. Put a backer behind the hollow pockets. Nice job!

I will try to put together a vector only file, that is generated from VCarve Pro, that calculates the vectors needed to cut the pockets with a two flute straight cut bit. Basically you tell it to generate the vectors and output to a vector only post processor and it generates a DXF (I think) that could be imported into the DXF importer. That would save a good bit of time. Shallow cuts would probably need to be set so as to not overload the cut motor. I will see if I can get to it tonight.. A bit loopy now. Back acting up.

Nice! How much time do you think you saved using all vectors with the centerline text? Looks nice and clean!
