Thread: 60 degree micro bit

    Default 60 degree micro bit

Anyone ever use a bit like this, for writing text? Or would the text be too small?

I've never used one but it seems to me that if you made it !/8 deep you would have a 1/8 wide cut 1/8 deep and 3/16 deep it would be 3/16 wide up to the 1/4 wide 1/4 deep I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will let you know being a 60 degree bit the cut width will be a little smaller .

I haven't used one...but, I had an idea for a rather high-end product line a few days ago and this type of bit might just work for that. Thanks for the link!

Ron Justice use to sell 1/8th "V" bits; I have one and use occasionally, works well on small lettering.

    Hi Ken,

The 1/8" V-bit would be great for "finer" stuff. Do you know if he still sells those? (what's his web URL?)

Sorry, just saw your post Michael.
I hope the link Doug posted works, I have not tried it lately, but it is the best that I know of.
I use to keep it touch with him but have not heard from him in awhile; assume he is still selling the Rock and bits.
The economy was causing the company to make changes that added to Ron's workload.

The 1/8th" bit I have (had) had a 60 degree cutter on one end and a 1/16" cutout on the other end - before I dropped it!
Never got a chance to use the 1/16" end.
