    Check out the new router fence from Rockler, it' digital, electronic, and pricey. It's called Ready2rout.

    I saw it earlier. Got an email on it. At $500+ I wonder if you can buy more than one?

    That is an application where a stepper motor might be appropriate. It might be fun to build one from CNC machine components.

    Sounds like it probably has a stepper motor . It also has a small screen to save different setups for box joints, dovetails and other programable fence settings. I'm sure anyone could build one for a lot less than $599. I have a Horizontal router table that works for me. Just crank the handle and the table moves a 1/16 for every revolution of the crank. If I wanted to get really precise I would put a digital caliper on the table.
