I used a Ping-Pong paddle. Made the child go and get it out of the drawer and bring it to me. Was tough every time, but I got to hug em every time afterwards and say a little prayer.

Saw one in 1962 in Elementary School.... With the letters on a 36 inch long board with handle.... "Board Of Education"....
Today it would result in someone getting fired or a Parent at a PTA Meeting claiming Pain and Suffering.......
