Default things I won't miss in 77 days...

...waking up at 0400 for PT (physical training)...

retirement is getting VERY large in the windshield and the young man I once was is fading farther and farther away when I look at the rear-view mirror.

My biggest was folks never get killed during the day, always at 1-2am. 2nd, large crime scene in pooring rain/snow or 20below Then again when I took aerial photos while standing on the skid of the helicopter it was NEVER IN SPRING OR FALL, always in WINTER OR SUMMER.

I wish you a happy retirement, But I hate to tell you. After 8months, my body clock still wakes up at 5 00 am. The nice thing is you can go to the bathroom and go back to bed . Keep on carving Ross

Your doing your countdown now Lawrence, you have become a short timer as we called it in the Army.

Once retiremant was in front of me, then it passed by.

Happy to be working and doing my CW carving and having my health. They say health is wealth, I would agree with that.

    Went you retire enjoy enjoy.

I am sure there are mixed feelings seeing the last day soon to be. I know you have served your country well and have nothing to be but proud of your career as we are. 76 days and get up left ....

76 and a wake up... indeed

"I'm so short I needed a ladder this morning to put on my boots"...

I hope this post didnt come across as self aggrandizing... I'm just getting excited (and was happy to see the tail end of my last PT test this morning...)

Many of you are veterans yourselves and I want to sincerely thank you all for paving the way for my generation's service. Your sacrifices and dedication to duty enabled my service in many (many) ways and I am truly grateful for your service.

I'll post more when I actually retire, but I do want to say that it has been my honor to serve you and the other men and women of this great nation.

I am humbled by my nation's support for me and my brothers-in-arms.

The last 20 years have not always been easy, but it has always been a privilege to serve.

    V/r
    Lawrence
