    Default STL files

as a few people know I am starting to learn to do the 3-d, so this will be my second dumb question I downloaded sketch up although I haven't learned it.. can I download a pattern from sketch up into the STL and do it from there it seems it would be a lot easier. If I can how do I get the file from sketch up to my documents ?...thanks

Here's a link I found that describes how to export an STL file from Sketchup (I believe an extra plug-in is required).

Of course you will also need the CW STL Importer to get the STL coverted into a PTN file. Hope that helps!
